Milestone #4
CpSc 481/681: Sensor-Enable Game Development
Computer Science Department
Clemson University
Leveling the plain
Brian Malloy, PhD
November 10, 2008

In order to receive credit for this milestone, your solution must be submitted, using the handin command, by 8 AM Monday, November 24th, 2008. I will zip your files and move them to my directory at that time. You may submit your solution before the deadline as many times as you like; only your final submission will be considered.

Your assignment is to accomplish the goals that we agreed upon. These goals differ with each group, as follows:

  1. Thomas:
    1. Build or get some models. Have you attempted to get some help with this from the DPA students?
    2. Try to build some spheres and tubes, using Blender, so that you can begin to get your model working. Perhaps the DPA students could easily get this accomplished for you, so that you can start writing some code to get them moving through 3D space. Does this make sense?
    3. Attempt to fire a projectile through space at the atom and attempt to detect collisions with the parts of the atom. For now, perhaps you can simply write information on the screen to register the hit.

  2. Douglas & Casey
    (1) a demonstration of a level that is 2D with a 3D slant!
    (2) A demonstration of using the Wii remote to:
       (a) swing the remote to punch; and
       (b) "grab" onto an opponent, using the A button and
B trigger, and possibly hit the opponent or "shake"
            the opponent.

  3. Brandon & Jason: Build a level that we can ``play'' and that culminates in success or failure.
  4. Scott, Glen, Micah and Patrick: ?????

To submit your assignment, please place a link to your milestone on the web page that you have created as part of Milestone # 5.

The grading rubric will be guided by the milestone specification.
